Jean Chang-Lowe, DDS
Dr. Jean Chang-Lowe was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and raised in Davenport, Iowa. She received a bachelor’s degree from Cornell College and attended Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago, Illinois. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1994, Dr. Chang-Lowe completed a one-year, hospital-based residency program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and the VA Medical Center. She continued at the University of Iowa with a prosthodontics fellowship at the dental school and VA hospital. This advanced training provided valuable experience in comprehensive and restorative dentistry and helped shape the thoughtful, individualized approach she brings to patient care today.
Dr. Chang-Lowe’s Background
Experience and Patient Care
In 1996, Dr. Chang-Lowe moved to the Daytona Beach area and began practicing dentistry. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the Volusia-Flagler Dental Association, and the Volusia Dental Academy. Dr. Chang-Lowe routinely exceeds the continuing education requirements mandated by the state of Florida and embraces proven advances in dental technology.
Throughout her career, she has remained committed to providing personalized dental care and building lasting relationships with her patients. She values taking the time to understand each patient’s individual needs and helping them feel comfortable and confident in their dental care.
Dr. Chang-Lowe met her husband, Dr. David Lowe, while they were both attending Northwestern University Dental School. Born and raised in the Daytona Beach area, Dr. David Lowe returned home to practice orthodontics in Port Orange. Together, they have twins, Max and Marley, who are currently in their second year of dental school — with Max attending NYU College of Dentistry and Marley attending the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Both are eager to join the family practice upon graduation, making dentistry a true family tradition.
Life Beyond Dentistry
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Chang-Lowe enjoys theater, concerts, reading, traveling, and billiards. She has also performed in theater, including a performance with her entire family. She and her husband share a passion for the arts; Dr. Lowe is not only an orthodontist but also a talented actor and singer. Music is another family interest. Their children participate in musical activities, and Dr. Chang-Lowe has played the piano and sung in choirs.
Dr. Chang-Lowe also enjoys Bikram hot yoga, which has become an important part of her active lifestyle.
Whether caring for her patients, spending time with family, supporting the arts, or practicing yoga, Dr. Chang-Lowe brings warmth, dedication, and enthusiasm to the things that matter most to her. She brings the same care to patients at our Daytona Beach practice (Google Maps, opens in a new tab).
